Blue Hens Nip Navy, 3-2

NEWARK, DEL (Friday, January 22, 2010) -- Navy's ice hockey team continued its recent trend of playing well on the road Friday night at the University of Delaware, but unfortunately the Midshipmen came up just a little short,

falling to the Blue Hens, 3-2, in an Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL) game played at the Fred Rust Arena.
 
With the loss, Navy's record now stands at 9-17-2 overall and 1-13-1 in the ESCHL.  Delaware, meanwhile, is now 16-8-1 overall and 9-4-1 in the league.
 
The same two teams will meet again Saturday at Delaware's Fred Rust Arena at 5 p.m.  The game is tentatively scheduled to be shown via webcast at the following link: http://www.delaware28.com/uofd.html.
 
Seniors Keegan Kinkade and Calen Mims scored Navy's two goals Friday night.  The Mids trailed 1-0 after the first period and 2-1 after the second stanza.  Navy rallied to tie the contest 2-2 in the third period before the Blue Hens tallied the game winning power play goal.
