WEST CHESTER, PA (Friday, October 29, 2010).  A late game surge by the Midshipmen fell short and Navy lost by a goal to conference foe, Villanova University, 4-3.  The loss was by the same score that Navy beat Villanova the week prior.

With the loss, Navy fell to 7-5 overall, and 3-2 in conference play. The hard fought game was marked by several penalties by both teams, with 32 total penalty minutes being awarded in the game. Each team grabbed an equal share of special teams play, taking 16 penalty minutes a piece.

Tom Fick put the Midshipmen on the board first with a goal less than two minutes into the game, assisted by Mitch Pulver and Sam Carlson. Jim Tumolo kept his scoring streak alive with a second period goal assisted by Matt Roberts. Having scored in six straight games, his latest foray earned Tumolo his 16th point of the year and placed him in the ACHA's top 10 in total points on the season.

Villanova led the game 4-2 going into the late minutes of the third period, but Navy rallied on a beautiful one timer in the slot on a two-on-one. The initial pass for the fast break from Jon Wheeler allowed Tom Krysil to put home the pass from Tommy Reed. Unfortunately, it would prove too little too late and the Mids were unable to score after pulling the goalie in the final minutes.

The Midshipmen look to bounce back  against conference rival, Lehigh in Bethlehem, PA on October 30th at 7:15 PM.
