Keegan Kinkade Named Brigade Commander


ANNAPOLIS, MD (December 3, 2009) -- Navy hockey co-assistant captain Keegan Kinkade was named today as Brigade Commander for the second semester of the 2010 academic year.

Brigade Commander is the highest ranking leadership position within the Brigade of Midshipmen.  U.S. Naval Academy Commandant, Captain Matthew L. Klunder, made the announcement earlier today.
"Navy Hockey coaches and staff want to take this opportunity to congratulate Keegan Kinkade on being selcted as the Brigade Commander for next semester," head coach Mike Fox said in a statement released this afternoon.  "As coach, I am extremely proud of the success Navy Hockey players have in academics and leadership at the United States Naval Academy. We have always believed that Navy Hockey players exemplify what it means to be trained as a Naval Officer. We are equally proud of every player on our team, and I know they all share in the joy and pride of having one of their own achieve such a stellar accomplishment in the Brigade."

Midshipman Kinkade will become a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation and Commissioning next May.  The Indianapolis, Indiana native recently received his first choice of service selection assignments: Marine Corps pilot.
