UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (Saturday, November 21, 2009) -- Although there was improvement in both effort and execution compared to Friday night's game here, unfortunately the final outcome was similar as Navy's ice hockey team fell to Penn State, 8-0, in an Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL) contest Saturday afternoon at the Greenberg Ice Pavilion.
The Midshipmen dropped to 4-13-2 overall and 0-9-1 in the ESCHL. PSU's Nittany Lion Icers improved to 14-1-1 and 9-0-1.
Senior goaltender Eric Anderson gave a valiant effort for Navy, stopping 59 of Penn State's 67 shots.
The Mids are now idle for the Thanksgiving holiday until Friday, December 4, when they host Muhlenberg College at the McMullen Hockey Arena in Annapolis at 7:30 p.m.
