ANNAPOLIS , MD (Friday, November 28, 2008) –
The Navy Hockey team (9-12-2) led by Senior 
Captain John Patrick Culliton beat the visiting 
Washington and Jefferson College Presidents 
during the first day of the Thanksgiving Holiday 
Invitational Tournament by a score of 5 to 4.    
 
Navy’s Matt Keller opened the scoring with a power 
play goal in the first period. Eric Bowen and 
Patrick Heitman netted goals to give Navy a quick
 three goal lead in the second period. However, 
the Presidents came storming back to tie the 
game with three goals to close out the second 
period.
In the third period, John Patrick Culliton scored a 
short handed goal and the game winning power 
play goal.    
 
Freshman goaltender Jameson Marshall recorded 
31 saves, as Navy outshot the Presidents 38 to 35.
 
The Midshipmen are back in action tomorrow as they host #7 Iowa State at 7:30PM on Saturday and then #8 West Chester at 3:30PM on Sunday.
